Our tour starts in Madrid. While in Madrid, travelers will have the opportunity to visit many historical attractions including Puerta del Sol, San Miguel Market, Plaza Mayor, Royal Palace, the monastery at San Lorenzo de El Escorial and Segovia. On Saturday and Sunday, the group will participate in a Pickleball tournament with local Spanish players. Awards and prizes will be handed out at the tournament banquet. We will transfer to Barcelona. Travelers will have an opportunity to visit some iconic sites including the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Park Guell, the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas and the monastery at Montserrat. Players will have a warm-up session on Tuesday and play in a tournament on Saturday and Sunday with local and international competition. Lunch is included with a tournament Fiesta on Saturday night!

INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED

Day 1 Madrid, Spain
Arrive at the Madrid Airport in the morning. Transfer to a Madrid 4-Star hotel. Hotel check in will be at 3:00pm. Travellers will be able to store their luggage in a secure room until check in. You can relax at the hotel or take some time to explore the nearby sites and have some lunch at a local restaurant. A welcome reception will be held at the hotel with a complementary beverage.
Optional group dinner.

Day 2 Madrid, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel is included.
Today the group will transfer to the Pickleball club for day 1 of the PLC Sports Travel Madrid Senior Cup. Awards ceremony at the end of the day.

Day 3 Madrid, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel is included.
Transfer to the Pickleball Club for day 2 of the tournament. After the tournament there will be an awards ceremony. Transfer back to the hotel. Dinner on your own.

Day 4 Madrid, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel is included. Today we start with a guided walking tour of Old Madrid, and a guided tour of the Royal Palace. This tour is included in your package. After lunch you will have time to sightsee or visit some attractions on your own.

Day 5 Barcelona, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Madrid train station and board the high-speed train to Barcelona. Arrive in Barcelona and transfer to the 4-star Barcelona hotel. Free time for local sightseeing.
Dinner on your own. A group reservation is possible.

Day 6 Barcelona, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel included. The day starts with a walking tour with a local guide of Old Barcelona including the Gothic Quarter, Cathedral, Las Ramblas and the Boqueria food market. Tour is included in your package. Lunch will be on your own. Transfer to the Pickleball club after lunch for open play with local players. Dinner will be on your own.

Day 7 Barcelona, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel included. Suggested optional tours for today include Park Güell and Sagrada Familia Cathedral designed by the legendary Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. Bus and admission tickets not included.
Transfer to the Pickleball club after lunch for open play with locals. Transfer back to the hotel. Dinner on your own.

Day 8 Barcelona, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel. Optional tours today. We take the bus heading to the Monastery of Montserrat at 8:30am. At 9:30am we get to the Monastery of Montserrat. This Benedictine Monk retreat offers you some of the most spectacular mountain views of Catalunya. You will learn about the holy grotto where visitations by the Virgin Mary were reported along with details on the mountain walks with breathtaking views. There we have a guided visit of 4 hours. The bus will take us back to the hotel. You have the evening and dinner on your own.

Day 9 Barcelona, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel is included. There will be a Pickleball tournament Saturday and Sunday for all players.
Player’s will take part in the PLC Sports Barcelona Cup.
Teams will play against local and regional players from Spain and possibly some international players.
Players will enjoy local cuisine for lunch and dinner. Fiesta Saturday night.

Day 10 Barcelona, Spain
Breakfast at the hotel. Today players will return to the Pickleball club for one more day of competition. Lunch at the club.
Awards ceremony after the tournament.
The group will return to the hotel after the awards ceremony and have a farewell to Barcelona dinner.

Day 11 Home
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

PRICING:
Canadian travelers pay in CDN
US and International travelers pay in USD. The U.S. dollar price will be sent to you once you have filled out the tour registration form.

Tour package pricing is per person, and based on double occupancy. Single room prices available upon request. A deposit fee is required to register for the tour. Requests for add-on tour pricing will be detailed in the custom tour quote.
Pricing does not include:
• Meals (unless indicated in the itinerary)
• Personal spending money
• Admission tickets to attractions (unless indicated in the itinerary)

AIRFARE:
Airfare is NOT included in the package price. Travelers are welcome to book their own airfare as per the group’s arrival and departure schedule. Please consult with PLC Sports Travel before booking your flights. Travelers will be expected to ensure their arrival and departure coincides with the group bus transfer times. If your flights do not correspond with the group transfer time, you will be required to arrange your own transportation.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:
PLC Sports Travel requires all travelers to have out of country health insurance. We also recommend you purchase trip cancellation and or trip interruption insurance to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstances. Insurance is not included in the package.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If a person cancels the ground portion of the tour, the following charges will apply:
• 91 + Days prior to departure, you will receive a refund of the payments you have made less a $100.00 service charge.
• 61-90 Days prior to departure, you will receive a 50% refund of the payments you have made less the $100.00 non-refundable deposit. If you find a replacement player/guest, you will receive a full refund less a $250.00 service charge.
• 0-60 Days prior to departure, no refund will be issued. If you find a replacement player/guest, you will receive a full refund less a $250.00 service charge.
