Travel to the historic city of Madrid for an international ice hockey tournament. Enjoy the sites, culture, food and nightlife of this vibrant city. Teams will stay at the beautiful Emperador Hotel in the heart of the old town. The Emperador has the largest roof top pool in Madrid. Many refer to it as the beach. The tournament offer 4 games with referees, timekeeper, online stats and schedules, t-shirt, game MVP awards, Top scorer, best defencemen, best goalie and best sportsmanship in each division, gold, silver and bronze medals and Madrid Cups to winners in each division.

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED

Depart to Madrid, Spain

Day 1 Arrive at the Madrid and transfer to the hotel on your own. Check in may not be available until 3:00pm. After noon and evening sightseeing on your own.

Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel. Tournament Day 1. Teams will play 1 or 2 games today. The rest of the day is free for optional sightseeing. Optional activities may include a walking tour of Madrid with local guide. During the tour you will visit the city’s historic centre including Puerta del Sol, San Miguel Market, and Plaza Mayor. We will take a guided tour of the Royal Palace and finish our walking tour in “Plaza Santa Ana”, a lively historical square housing one of Madrid’s most famous theaters along with a wide range of restaurants and “tapas bars” to choose from. Dinner on your own.

Day 3 Breakfast at the hotel. Tournament Day 2. Today teams will play 1 or 2 games. Depending on your game time, you may wish to take the optional tour to San Lorenzo de El Escorial for the Monastery tour. The tour will start at 10:00am. The Escorial is a vast building complex located in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, near Madrid, in central Spain. The building is the most important architectural monument of the Spanish Renaissance. Construction of El Escorial began in 1563 and ended in 1584.

Day 4 Breakfast at the hotel. Tournament finals today. all teams will play 1 game today.

Day 5 Breakfast at the hotel. Today some travellers will head home and others will carry on to the optional extended tour to Seville, Ronda, Granada and Malaga. Extended tour details can be found on the Optional Tour itinerary.

PRICING:
Canadian travelers pay in CDN
US and International travelers pay in USD. The U.S. dollar price will be sent to you once you have filled out the tour registration form.

Tour package pricing is per person, and based on double occupancy. Single room prices available upon request. A deposit fee is required to register for the tour. Requests for add-on tour pricing will be detailed in the custom tour quote.
Pricing does not include:
• Meals (unless indicated in the itinerary)
• Personal spending money
• Admission tickets to attractions (unless indicated in the itinerary)

AIRFARE:
Airfare is NOT included in the package price. Travelers are welcome to book their own airfare as per the group’s arrival and departure schedule. Please consult with PLC Sports Travel before booking your flights.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:
PLC Sports Travel requires all travelers to have out of country health insurance. We also recommend you purchase trip cancellation and or trip interruption insurance to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstances. Insurance is not included in the package.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If a person cancels the ground portion of the tour, the following charges will apply:
• 91 + Days prior to departure, you will receive a refund of the payments you have made less a $100.00 service charge.
• 61-90 Days prior to departure, you will receive a 50% refund of the payments you have made less the $100.00 non-refundable deposit. If you find a replacement player/guest, you will receive a full refund less a $250.00 service charge.
• 0-60 Days prior to departure, no refund will be issued. If you find a replacement player/guest, you will receive a full refund less a $250.00 service charge.
